And movement with WSAD or whatever is mapped to Horizontal and Vertical axis was not influenced by the direction the player object was facing, next step was creating a basic ranged combat system which can be changed dynamically along with bullet spread, shotgun burst amount, range, force etc etc etc. I started out with a simple top down controller which will turn to face wherever the mouse is located for targeting reasons. In it's core the projects is a top down huge world scale rpg/shooter, although it went trough many iterations of different movement and combat controllers I developed and updated over time as I gained more and more experience, one day I thought if what I see in Hotline is possible inside the Unity engine? So I set out to make a system that will be inspired by our favorite gory coke filled action shooter - Hotline Miami. Aside from Shop Keep and other contractual video game projects I am working on, I had a secret project laying around on which I work on whenever I find time, or need to refresh my brain after working too much on other projects. Many of us as gamers / video game enthusiasts and everyone who enjoy a good game can say that Hotline Miami brought something monumental to the industry, and I have enjoyed every single bit of it (no pun intended) as I believe lot's of others.
